Why Semaglutide or Tirzepatide?
These new peptides are the best tool in the toolbox when it comes to medications for weight loss. Unlike the way most weight loss drugs work, they do not act as a stimulant. Semaglutide (active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy) is a selective glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that increases glucose-dependent insulin secretion, decreases inappropriate glucagon secretion, slows gastric emptying; also acts in the areas of the brain involved in regulation of appetite and caloric intake.
Tirzepatide (active ingredient in Mounjaro) is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, and also a GIP-1 (glucagon-like peptide) receptor agonist, so it is a single peptide that triggers the body's receptors for two natural incretin hormones, resulting in a more significant effect on glucose and body weight. While the brand Mounjaro is not indicated by the FDA for weight loss at this time, change in weight was a secondary endpoint.

How do I use Semaglutide or Tirzepatide?
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are once weekly subcutaneous injections (into fat) with a small insulin syringe. The dose is gradually increased over time, allowing you to continue to obtain the benefits while minimizing side effects.
How much weight will I lose?
The average weight loss with semaglutide at 3 months was about 14.7 pounds, according to a 2022 study published in JAMA, and then 27 pounds at 6 months. It was also shown to improve overall health, including lower hemoglobin A1cs, cholesterol numbers, blood pressure, and reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke.
In another intense randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled trial, the estimated mean (average) body weight change from baseline to week 68 was –16.0% of body weight for the semaglutide arm vs –5.7% for the placebo group.
In cross-trial data, Tirzepatide demonstrated significant weight results across 5 clinical trials.
Of course, results are individual and are not guaranteed. Lasting weight loss depends on diet and lifestyle habits.
How does the program work?

Contraindications
These medications are for overweight and obese adults. They are contraindicated in patients on insulin, diabetic retinopathy, decreased kidney function, low blood sugar, history of pancreatitis, active gallbladder disease, with personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), or in patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), have active cancer, or who are pregnant or lactating.
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation.
Semaglutide or Tirzepatide Weight Loss Program Cost
The start up cost is $250 and includes the 30 min. provider consult fee for medical clearance and prescription, bloodwork, professional-grade nutraceutical supplement recommendations for optimal health during the program (available for additional purchase), and nutritional and exercise counseling. Tirzepatide
The first 10-week round of compounded tirzepatide at typical dosing schedule is $1000 ($400/month), and subsequent rounds are $1100 ($440/month) when following the typical dosing schedule for weight loss.
