Acupuncture In Reno, NV

Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese medicine, in which very thin needles are strategically placed on certain areas of the body. By lightly penetrating the outer surface of the skin, these needles are thought to improve energy flow in areas of the body that may be injured or diseased.

Acupuncture Treats a Wide Range of Issues

Most people who come to our practice are dealing with chronic pain that they are looking to get under control; however, while acupuncture can be a great way to alleviate certain aches and pains, this isn’t the extent of what acupuncture can do. This alternative therapy can also be used to treat:

  • Pain
  • Morning sickness
  • Arthritis
  • Neuropathy
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia
  • Digestive issues
  • Infertility

You’ll Need Several Sessions

While many of our patients experience relief after just one session, we also like to let our patients know that subsequent sessions are often when you’ll see the most benefit from acupuncture. When you come in for your first session, our acupuncturist Dr. Bachman will evaluate your condition and determine how many sessions you may need based on the type and severity of the issues you’re dealing with.

Only Sterile, Disposable Needles Are Used

We take our patient’s health and safety very seriously here at Reno Health Institute. The acupuncture needles that we use are for single use only. Once they are used on you they are properly disposed of. We do not reuse needles, so patients never have to be concerned that they could contract a disease from undergoing acupuncture.

It Doesn’t Hurt

The needles that we use are ultra-thin and made of the highest quality so you’ll never have to worry about pain or discomfort with acupuncture. These needles are not the same needles that are used for giving blood. An acupuncture needle is significantly smaller than even a sewing needle.

You Should Eat Something Beforehand

It’s a good idea not to get acupuncture on an empty stomach. You don’t need to eat a full-blown meal but even enjoying a snack will help to ensure that the body has enough energy to take full advantage of what acupuncture offers. Be well hydrated. Plus, this will help to reduce post-acupuncture lightheadness.
